BIOCIDES and THYROID CANCER



The association between  occupational exposure to biocides and pesticides through a job-exposure matrix and thyroid cancer was examined by some researchers using data from a population-based case-control study involving 462 incident thyroid cancer cases and 498 controls in Connecticut collected in 2010-2011.

 It was observed that individuals ever-exposed to biocides had a high risk of thyroid cancer  ( OR=2.18, 95% Cl 1.28 to 3.73)

 No significant association between occupational exposure and cancer was found.

Con una distanza di almeno 50 chilometri , ci sono già 12 casi con problemi di salute mentale e con oltre 500 chilometri  ci sono stati 12,6 . Non solo il numero di assenze per malattia, ma anche l'assenteismo dovuto a malattie mentali aumenta da 2,9 a 3,4 giorni persi per ogni membro dell'AOK.
